About THE SHARPE IMAGE

I started my photography career innocently enough in High School photographing for an "Underground newspaper" that was the brainchild of a friend of mine named Bill Beeha. Bill started "The Headlines" as a way to "buck" the established High School newspaper and get to the pulse and truth of what the student body was really feeling. I was the only one with a camera, it was a gift from my Dad.

After High School, I attended college at Middle Tennessee State University and got a job working for a Wedding Photographer by the name of Paul Vaughn. I did what ever Paul wanted me to do. I was a "catchall" assistant. At the time I had no real desire to be a professional photographer, but I watched and learned a lot. Paul has won the title of "Wedding Photographer of the Year" 3 times in Tennessee, in a contest that was held by the "Tennessian" newspaper out of Nashville.

After graduation from Old Dominion University in 1988, I continued to create images, but only on a personal level. I later started my professional photography career with Winston Cup Scene shooting Winston Cup Auto Racing. I found that I had real passion for capturing the competition of motorsport. I continued to refine and hone my skills as a photographer.

Soon after this I started THE SHARPE IMAGE. I started my company with a passion to bring the images of competition to media outlets and ad agencies across the country. It worked.

Today, THE SHARPE IMAGE has grown into a FULL SERVICE Photography Company fulfilling the needs of several types of clients with several types of photography and imaging, as well as an agency that handles Rights Managed (RM), and Royalty Free (RF) stock photography.
